The National Association of Government Web Professionals (NAGW) announced its annual Pinnacle Award winners at the organization’s 2016 conference in San Antonio, Texas. NAGW Secretary and East Region Director Barbara Belli made the announcement during the awards banquet held September 22 at the Wyndham San Antonio Riverwalk hotel.
“The Pinnacle Awards celebrate excellence in government web design and innovation,” said NAGW President Leslie Labrecque.” The entrants do extraordinary work with limited budgets and resources. NAGW congratulates all of the winners on their outstanding work that truly serves their communities.”
Pinnacles Awards are judged by a group of web professionals within and outside of the government web industry and are awarded to the best entries based on the following judging criteria: team size, content, organization, design, performance and flexibility, accessibility standards, and interactivity.
Awards were presented this year in each of three population categories for cities and counties as well as a Pinnacle award for microsites and special site features.
Additionally, the NAGW membership voted on the Members’ Choice Awards from among the entries in each category. Pinnacle Awards event sponsor Siteimprove, a leading provider of web governance software, presented the Sponsor’s Award to City of Mansfield, Texas.
The Steven Michael Moore Pinnacle Award for excellence in a government web profession was presented to former NAGW President and Lakes Region Director, Ron Pringle, from the City of Boulder, Colorado.
“The award is intended to embrace the legacy of our friend and colleague, Steve Moore, who passed away in January 2015,” said Labrecque. “Ron’s dedication to awesome work in government combined with the years he devoted to NAGW as both a board member and the president made him an obvious choice to win this award.”
