Elections

Elections are held in the summer, with results announced at the NAGW member meeting. Odd-numbered region board positions are up for election in odd-numbered years, even-numbered region board positions are up for election in even-numbered years. Board Member Requirements

Board member positions are a two-year term starting on Nov 1 in the year you are elected. Board members are expected to do the following:

  • Maintain your NAGW membership
  • Participate in virtual meetings (one to two hours every two weeks—currently scheduled on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. CDT)
  • Work on tasks relating to NAGW business, usually as a member of at least two committees
  • Attend the annual NAGW Conference 

2026 Election Timeline

  • Nominations accepted: Monday, July 27th - Friday, August 14th
  • Review and certify nominations: Monday , August 17th - Friday, August 21st
  • Member voting: Monday, August 24th - Friday, September 4th
  • Annual members meeting: Thursday, October 8, 2026

Board members in three NAGW regions and one at-large position are up for election in 2026. View the region map.

The positions up for election are:

How to Apply

All nominations and required materials must be submitted by Friday, August 14, 2026. NAGW members will vote online between August 24 - September 4.

Step 1 - Submit Nomination

Nominations must be made in writing and emailed to the board secretary at [email protected] or mailed to:

Include the region name and position in your nomination letter. Any current full voting member may nominate any full voting member, including themselves, for the position of director.

Step 2 - Submit Nominee Questionnaire

Complete the NAGW board nominee questionnaire before the nomination due date. Submit a candidate photo and two letters of reference via the questionnaire.
