Jul. 16, 2026

The National Association of Government Web Professionals (NAGW) is honored to announce Dr. Alan Shark as a keynote speaker for the 2026 NAGW National Conference, taking place October 6-9 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Dr. Shark is one of the nation's leading voices on technology leadership in the public sector. He is an associate professor at the School of Policy and Government at George Mason University, a Senior Fellow of the Public Technology Institute where he served as executive director for over twenty years, and the author of more than 12 books, including Artificial Intelligence: A Primer for State and Local Government. He speaks and writes on all matters of technology leadership, with a special focus on artificial intelligence, policy, and governance.

In his keynote, "Everything Government Web Professionals Need to Know About AI — Since Yesterday," Dr. Shark explores how artificial intelligence is transforming government communication, citizen service, public trust, and the role of the digital professional itself. If AI is changing your job faster than you can keep up, this session is for you.

Whether your organization is deep into AI adoption or just getting started, Dr. Shark's keynote will give you the insight and context you need to lead with confidence.

Dr. Shark's keynote will be held on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 9 a.m. during the NAGW Conference at the Hyatt Regency Milwaukee.
