Keynote: New Strategies to Unlock Open Data and Expand Collaboration
August 2021
Collaboration improves when people are engaged, have common interests, and have access to the data. By creating a central location to share data and dashboards and to convey information on important topics you can build trust, increase transparency, and organize teams to achieve organizational goals. Join Morgan Sapia, an account executive from Esri, and Rob Van De Hey, Deputy City Manager and Director of Information Systems at the City of Escondido, California as they discuss new strategies you can start using today to unlock open data and expand collaboration.
In this session, you’ll see examples of how these strategies are being used by cities and counties to tackle local-focused initiatives. Van De Hey will give a brief overview of the city’s Volunteer Escondido ArcGIS hub site and will also walk through the Working Together: Escondido Takes on Homelessness & Transiency hub site to share how it is helping the city to manage and reduce homelessness in collaboration with their community partners, local businesses, and residents.
